Expected Goals (xG)

Expected goals (xG) estimate the quality of scoring chances from shot location and type. xGF is chances created, xGA is chances allowed, and xG% = xGF / (xGF + xGA) — above 50% means a team out-chances opponents. Compare xG with actual goals (GF/GA) to spot teams over- or under-performing their chances.
